Korean Bakery Chain Paris Baguette Opens its First Branch in the Philippines

With a chic interior and freshly baked delights, a scent of heavenly goodness wafts through the air of Paris Baguette's first branch in the Philippines. A bakery cafe originating from South Korea, Paris Baguette already has 4,000 branches worldwide. No need to head over South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, United States or any of their other branches, simply hop on over to SM Mall of Asia and see for yourself the goodness of what Paris Baguette has to offer.

We were recently invited to the opening of Paris Baguette's first branch in the Philippines. The interior was truly pretty and the cafe itself was quite spacious, perfect for chilling with friends over caffeine or for simply to winding down after a long day of work.

It was the croissants that caught my eye, especially the Salmon Cream Cheese Croissant Sandwich. Not only was this croissant sandwich pleasing to the eye, but it was also pleasing to the palate.

Of course, I had to try the Philippine exclusive menu which features ube (purple yam). Originally, I wanted to try the ube chocolate drink but I was told that it only comes as a hot drink so I opted for iced Ube Latte instead and it did not disappoint.

I really like the design of the Paris Baguette x Christy Ng Monogram Bag, I saw a lot of this design in Malaysia and I found out that this bag was designed by a Malaysian company.

The grand opening of the number one French-inspired bakery café in South Korea was graced by esteemed dignitaries including the Ambassador of South Korea to the Philippines, His Excellency Mr. Lee Sang-Hwa, the President and CEO of SPC Group, Mr. Hur Jin-soo, Chairman of Berjaya Paris Baguette Philippines, Dato’ Sydney Quays, Vice Chairman of Berjaya Paris Baguette Philippines, Mr. Frederick Siy, CEO of Paris Baguette Southeast Asia, Ms. Hana Lee, and President of SM Supermalls, Mr. Steven Tan.

The origins of Paris Baguette traces back in South Korea in 1945, rooted in the spirit of “Sangmidang”, a pledge to never leaving a piece of bread unchecked. The commitment was further solidified in 1988 with the opening of the first Paris Baguette Bakery Café in South Korea.

"Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our ambitious expansion plans for the year, with the aim of opening four additional stores across strategic locations in the Philippines," affirmed Dato’ Sydney Quays, Chairman of Berjaya Paris Baguette Philippines. Debuting in the Philippines, a nation with a deep appreciation for South Korean culture and culinary excellence, Paris Baguette is set to win the hearts and taste buds of Filipinos.

“The Philippines and South Korea share a longstanding friendship,” said the Ambassador of South Korea to the Philippines, His Excellency Mr. Lee Sang-Hwa. “Through music, cuisine, media, and much more, our cultures have intertwined. With this first Paris Baguette Bakery Café, a setting often portrayed in popular Korean dramas, we hope to continue this relationship and bring us even closer through conversations and unforgettable experiences over great food.”
